National Night Out - Get Excited!
What is National Night Out? This is an annual community-building campaign that’s held across the country to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. This is an opportunity to show neighborhood spirit and strengthen our partnerships with local law enforcement agencies to ensure our Daniels Run Woods (and CCH) community remains a safe place to live.
There will be music, refreshments, fun hands-on activities and games for kids and adults, and free popsicles! Representatives from the City of Fairfax Police and Fire units will stop by (so be ready to hop on the firetruck and check out the police cruiser), and hopefully a visit from Fairfox, our Fairfax City mascot and McGruff the Crime Dog. This is also a great opportunity to chat with our Mayor, City Council members and neighbors!
To make your dinner plans easy, Frink's Grilling food truck will be on-site serving Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Half Smokes, Baked Beans and Macaroni and Cheese.
Here are some of the fun activities we have planned:
Make your own badge
Various coloring and sketch activities
Fingerprinting
Temporary Tattoos
Sidewalk chalk mural
Science demo
Police/Fire Training Obstacle Course
“Put out the fire” target practice
Scavenger Hunt/ I Spy
Giant Jenga
Cornhole
Come out and help build a stronger, safer community! We look forward to seeing you!
